Well said, David. I earned my first 100 followers in a year, which is very slow by some writers' standards here. In that year I earned just a dollar or two every month, so I pretty much agree that there's no point in being in the MPP if you've got less than 100 followers. What I learned during that period was priceless--the experience of writing and refining my drafts, getting feedback from publication editors, getting to know the platform better. By the time I got my 100 followers organically, I was pretty much set.
