Thank you for the referral! You know, as I'm new to this, I recently published a story here on Medium that I deleted later when I realized my unacknowledged ableism. The story was titled "Coming to Terms with My Child's Autism." I deleted it as soon as I read articles about autism written by authentically autistic people, and realized in horror how my initial reactions to my child's diagnosis could hurt him unless I change. So yes, we cannot overstate how important it is to listen to autistics themselves about their condition, especially for NT parents like me.
Edit: I looked it up, so it's by Dr. Olga Bogdashina, a book about the triad of perspectives (by autistics, parents, and professionals). It's a very big help for me. Thanks again!
