Thank you, Christina! It's hard to distinguish at first whether I was just mismanaging my load, or I was really overloaded. Working moms tend to normalize it, and I needed to take a hard and objective look at what's going on with me. It helped as well when I opened up to my department chair, who noticed from my emails that I might be developing anxiety. And writing this article allowed me dive into memories of my childhood to discover why I have the tendencies. Thanks for the affirmation that I need to prioritize myself this time, which is hard to sustain if family and friends are not supportive.
