Kelli Lynn, if I could clap a million times for you, I totally would! I deeply appreciate your sharing your perspective and story, as it definitely adds to what I've mostly written.

You're a great parent for choosing to homeschool your children to meet their unique needs. As a new homeschooler, I gained a newfound appreciation and respect for homeschooling families. It's hard! It's not for everyone. I've taught a few neuro-atypical college students who weren't identified as such because their parents refused to identify their neurodivergence, or maybe didn't have the means or capacity to understand it. They were bright and empathetic, very open, and seem to have deeper than usual self-understanding--but it also takes educators like us to appreciate such qualities when standard assessments may show different results. This is, of course, just the good side of the story. The struggle for inclusive education continues.

The pandemic hasn't been good to folks like us. Sending you a virtual hug! May you be on a path to healing, financial stability, and I wish you clarity of mind and spirit as you look after your kids, your mom, yourself most especially. Love you seem to have a lot, coming from your good heart.
