I pruned the publications I’m a writer in to just three, out of 15. I also have 3 of my own publications where I serialize what I hope will be books in the future. I learned in my more than a year here on Medium that it’s good to be loyal to a few publications and the communities they nurture, rather than scatter my stories. I will only join a publication when I know in myself that I will read and clap for the writers there, to help it grow in engagement. I’ve stopped shopping around and asking to be added as a writer. I’d rather focus on growing with the few pubs I’ve chosen to still write for, and my own self-pubs.
