Hi Shamar, thanks for this article. I signed up in Vocal Media some months ago but I haven’t gotten around to actually publish something there yet. I agree that where there is community in Medium, there’s only competition in Vocal. One of the things I like here in Medium is that writers are generally supportive of one another. There’s no comment section in Vocal, but in a context where writers are made to compete with rather than support each other regularly, I can only imagine what sort of comments there will be if there a comments section in Vocal.

I’ve been weighing whether the 10 dollars fee would be worth it, like how soon will I be able to at least earn 10 dollars a month to cover for the fee? Based on the reviews, it seems unlikely. I’ll give it a try once I earn more than $5 a month here on Medium.
