As a migraine sufferer, I can very relate. I don’t like listening to music, it messes me up. I can never read audiobooks in the same way I can’t endure it when the radio or TV is turned on to perpetuity. When I’m having an attack, and it’s raining, the gentle sounds of rainwater on the window feels like torture to my oversensitivity to sound.
My headaches may not be as terrible as yours. But with you, I’m glad for moments of mental solitude. And yes, the emptiness helps me write. And find my place in my own head.
